Job Description

Overview

The Application Engineer at Adams Thermal Systems is responsible for creating and implementing customer-driven designs while leading cross-functional teams. This role involves material specification, structure analysis, and maintaining customer relationships, requiring both independence and collaboration.

Key responsibilities

  • Create and implement customer-driven designs with minimal supervision
  • Specify materials and analyze structures for robustness, cost, and risk
  • Lead Design FMEA's with cross-functional teams
  • Utilize QPC process as per IATF-16949 standard
  • Serve as the technical contact in support of sales
  • Support manufacturing for prototyping or production launches
  • Direct designer/drafters providing project support
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned

Required skills

  • CAD (Creo) design, analysis, and drafting per ANSI Y14.5-2018
  • GD&T skills
  • Tolerance analysis and stack-up calculations
  • Windchill/PDM Link for CAD file management
  • Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA)
  • Heat transfer and structural analysis
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • 3 to 5 years of design experience in OEM manufacturing
  • Experience with parametric CAD software
  • Sheet metal design and weldments experience
  • Knowledge of heat exchanger products and processes (brazing) is a plus
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
