Overview

Lutheran Social Services of WI & Upper MI is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to work a 4-day week, focusing on maintaining safe and functional environments for residents and staff. This role involves various repair and maintenance tasks at an apartment complex and a residential treatment program, directly supporting the organization's mission of community service.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance work on apartment buildings and program sites
  • Handle plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general repairs
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and safety inspections
  • Maintain property appearance and code compliance
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls as part of an on-call rotation
  • Collaborate with team members, vendors, and contractors
  • Operate snow removal and grounds maintenance equipment
  • Purchase supplies and materials within budget guidelines

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 2+ years of general maintenance or building repair experience preferred
  • Knowledge of building systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry)
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow safety procedures
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Willingness to travel between locations in Madison, Beaver Dam, and Columbus
