Overview

The Anatomic Pathology Operations Manager at People Placers Staffing will lead the histology, cytology, and MOHS laboratories at a stand-alone full-service hospital in White Plains, NY. This leadership role involves comprehensive oversight of laboratory activities to ensure quality, testing accuracy, and regulatory compliance while fostering a collaborative and excellence-driven culture within the team.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate activities across histology, cytology, and MOHS labs
  • Supervise, train, and mentor senior laboratory staff
  • Oversee the Quality Control program and participate in Performance Improvement initiatives
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets in collaboration with senior leadership
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary hospital teams and represent the department in meetings

Required skills

  • Experience managing anatomic pathology laboratories
  • Expertise in histology, cytology, and/or MOHS
  • Leadership skills in hiring, training, and developing staff
  • Knowledge of regulatory and accreditation standards (CAP, CLIA, JCAHO, NYS DOH)
  • Strong financial acumen in budget development and capital planning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with laboratory information systems (LIS)
