Job Description

Overview

Olymel is seeking a Corporate Payroll Analyst to join their dynamic team in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec. This role will involve reconciling general ledger accounts, supporting annual mass processes, and continuously optimizing payroll systems while ensuring data accuracy and providing analytical support to payroll operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Reconcile payroll journals from various systems with general ledger accounts
  • Verify and reconcile balances related to payroll reserves, banks, and provisions
  • Prepare end-of-financial-year documentation such as work papers and supporting documents
  • Participate in annual year-end processes
  • Collaborate with external audits
  • Contribute to special payroll-related projects
  • Ensure correct remittances for payroll deductions by completing and submitting relevant government forms
  • Assist in preparing year-end slips and related declarations (R1 and T4 summaries, CSST and WCB declarations)
  • Produce detailed analyses to explain observed discrepancies
  • Provide analytical support to the payroll team and management

Required skills

  • DEC in accounting or equivalent training
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar role (payroll, accounting, or financial analysis)
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel
  • Knowledge of SAP Success Factors and Workforce
  • INP certification is an asset
  • Autonomy, resourcefulness, sense of responsibility, pragmatic approach, perseverance, and open-mindedness
