Overview

The Ambulatory Surgery RN role at BJC HealthCare involves providing direct patient care within an acute care hospital environment, specifically at the Memorial Shiloh facility. This position includes responsibilities such as patient assessment, planning, and evaluation, as well as promoting patient safety and quality compliance.

Key responsibilities

  • Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Educates patients and families on illness management and post-treatment care.
  • Participates in activities promoting patient safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Develops and documents individual plans of care in collaboration with the interprofessional team.
  • Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs.

Required skills

  • RN license
  • BSN Degree preferred
  • 2+ years current acute care nursing experience preferred
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
  • Experience in patient care and nursing
  • Knowledge of nursing standards and guidelines
