Job Description

Overview

The Allergy/Immunology Physician Assistant at WellSpan Health will provide diagnosis and treatment to patients while working within their defined scope of practice. This role involves patient assessment, diagnosis development, prescribing treatments, and coordinating ongoing care for patients in allergology and immunology.

Key responsibilities

  • Obtain and record patient histories, assess health status, and perform physical exams.
  • Design comprehensive management plans for patients based on assessments.
  • Request and interpret diagnostic and screening procedures.
  • Write prescriptions for medications and treatments as per state regulations.
  • Coordinate ongoing care and follow-up evaluations for patients.
  • Provide emergency care when necessary.
  • Act as a resource and consultant to staff, providing education and support.
  • Maintain accurate patient medical records and required documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings and committees as required.

Required skills

  • Master's Degree in Nurse Practitioner or Bachelor's Degree in Physician Assistant
  • 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Licensed Physician Assistant upon hire
  • Basic Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification upon hire
  • Strong assessment and diagnosis skills
  • Effective communication and patient education abilities
