Overview

The Aircrew Rescue Swimmer & Navy Diver role involves enlisting in an elite community that performs helicopter sea rescues and conducts underwater operations. This position supports various military operations worldwide, including carrier and expeditionary strike groups and special operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate as enlisted aircrew during flight operations
  • Perform helicopter sea rescues and provide advanced first aid
  • Execute underwater search, salvage, and security missions
  • Inspect, cut, weld, and repair ships and submarines
  • Conduct deep and saturation diving using various diving systems
  • Operate and supervise hyperbaric chamber treatments
  • Plan and conduct demolition
  • Maintain and repair specialized flight, survival, and diving equipment

Required skills

  • Strong swimming ability
  • Comfort in open water
  • Excellent overall physical condition
  • Ability to pass aviation flight physical and diving medical exam
  • Physical fitness including timed swims, runs, and calisthenics
  • Eligibility for a security clearance
  • Team leadership and attention to detail
  • Experience in technical repair and heavy seas operation
