Job Description

Overview

The Tooling Specialist at Airbus Canada Limited Partnership is responsible for the design, provision, and maintenance of equipment required for the Final Assembly Lines (FAL) in the A220 Commercial Aircraft Program. This role involves managing full-cycle projects, ensuring they meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards while promoting collaborative teamwork and continuous learning.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate and lead a team of technical planners for tooling estimation and purchasing.
  • Distribute workload and ensure technical skill development of team members.
  • Develop ROMs and delivery lead times for new projects for reliable budget estimates.
  • Manage a strategic purchase contract for tooling, ensuring compliance with clauses.
  • Monitor critical milestones and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Ensure adherence to delivery deadlines and implement corrective action plans as needed.
  • Analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to costs, delivery time, and quality.
  • Prepare periodic activity reports for management.
  • Manage financial resources to ensure budget compliance while achieving project goals.
  • Collaborate with methods, finance, procurement teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Interpret and comply with technical plans and specifications.
  • Lead multi-departmental meetings and engage all collaborators.
  • Develop solutions to challenges during projects.
  • Present project progress reports.

Required skills

  • Engineering degree in mechanical, industrial, or aeronautical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the industrial sector or similar.
  • Experience in project planning, scheduling, and multi-team coordination.
  • Ability to work with external suppliers and oversee equipment assembly.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in tools for project management and quality assurance.
