Job Description

Overview

The Air Launched Effector Guidance Systems (ALEGS) Section Lead at Raytheon in Tucson, AZ is responsible for overseeing the execution of engineering projects focused on airborne electrical products. This position involves direct line management of a section of 15 to 20 engineers, ensuring effective collaboration and alignment with program goals while promoting the development and growth of team members.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee direct line management activities including performance management and career development
  • Support section members' performance and career growth through feedback and development activities
  • Manage hiring efforts including resume reviews, interviews, and onboarding
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and address personnel issues
  • Promote collaboration across functional, program, and supplier boundaries
  • Dedicate approximately 15-20% of time to technical leadership duties
  • Collaborate with program and functional leadership teams to ensure goal alignment
  • Support department and directorate-level initiatives and goals

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related STEM field
  • Minimum of 8 years' relevant experience
  • Experience with RF/Digital/Analog Power subsystem development
  • Leadership experience in a technical team
  • Knowledge of product development lifecycle
  • Coaching and mentoring skills
  • Experience as a Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) or Control Account Manager (CAM)
  • Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and coordination skills
  • Ability to obtain Special Access Programs Clearance
