Overview

The Air Force Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate (DAVA) at IVA'AL Solutions, LLC provides essential support to military personnel and their families who are victims of intimate partner abuse. Based at Vandenberg Space Force Base, this role includes offering both emergent and urgent non-clinical services, establishing safety plans, and collaborating with various military and community resources to ensure the safety and well-being of victims.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide 24/7 emergency response to victims of abuse.
  • Establish and review individualized victim safety plans.
  • Conduct risk assessments and notify relevant authorities in cases of imminent danger.
  • Advise victims on available military and civil safety actions.
  • Collaborate with military and community agencies to improve support systems.
  • Maintain confidentiality while documenting victim contacts and services provided.
  • Transport victims to appointments when necessary and appropriate.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
  • 2 years' experience in advocacy services for domestic violence or sexual assault victims.
  • Basic Advocate Credential with designation of Comprehensive Intervention Specialist.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry for client file management.
  • Certification in CPR/BLS.
  • Strong communication skills and understanding of confidentiality practices.
