Overview

As an Agency Underwriter at People's Trust Insurance, you will be responsible for communicating with agency partners regarding underwriting decisions and guidelines. Your role includes evaluating new business submissions, managing reinstatement requests, endorsements, and addressing billing inquiries while working in a team environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with agents about underwriting questions
  • Evaluate new business submissions and reinstatement requests
  • Manage billing inquiries and policy changes
  • Ensure timely processing in a fast-paced environment
  • Resolve issues using strong problem-solving skills
  • Assess risk and determine policy eligibility
  • Review policy documentation for accuracy
  • Handle special projects and additional duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED; Bachelor's or Associate's Degree preferred
  • Two years of experience in Property & Casualty insurance or relevant experience
  • 4-40 Customer Service Representative, 2-20 General Lines, or 20-44 Resident Personal Lines License
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Ability to assess information and make sound underwriting decisions
