Overview

The Agency Asset Manager I - Inspections at Capital One is responsible for conducting comprehensive physical inspections of multifamily assets that support Underwriting and Asset Management. This position focuses on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac collateral inspections, ensuring that all inspections meet specific agency guidelines and reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical inspections of apartment buildings, including building systems and structural integrity.
  • Ensure inspections comply with agency guidelines and standards.
  • Produce detailed photographic reports outlining current conditions and necessary repairs.
  • Identify deferred maintenance, safety hazards, and compliance with local building codes.
  • Access apartment units to verify conditions and compliance.
  • Prepare loan and portfolio level status reports as requested.
  • Comply with Investor monitoring and reporting requirements.
  • Frequent travel to various locations for inspections.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • 2+ years of experience in commercial real estate or property management
  • 2+ years of experience with GSE (Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac) or CMBS
  • Knowledge of Property Condition Assessments (PCAs)
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Experience conducting site inspections
  • Qualified GSE Inspector
  • Ability to use cameras and software for data collection and reporting
