Overview

The Agency Asset Manager I - Inspections at Capital One plays a crucial role in conducting physical inspections of multifamily assets to support Underwriting and Asset Management. This position is focused on inspections related to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac collateral, ensuring compliance with agency guidelines and providing comprehensive documentation of property conditions.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive physical inspections of apartment buildings, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, structural integrity, roofs, and exterior grounds.
  • Ensure all inspections meet specific agency compliance standards.
  • Produce detailed, photographic reports on current conditions, necessary repairs, and estimated costs.
  • Identify deferred maintenance and safety hazards, ensuring compliance with local building codes.
  • Access and inspect a representative sampling of apartment units for conditions and standards compliance.
  • Conduct walkthroughs of large properties, including climbing ladders and navigating extensive grounds.
  • Prepare loan and portfolio level status reports as requested.
  • Comply with all Investor monitoring and reporting requirements.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience in commercial real estate or property management.
  • At least 2 years of GSE experience (Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac) or CMBS experience.
  • Knowledge of Property Condition Assessments (PCAs).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to use cameras and software for data collection and reporting.
