Job Description

Overview

The After School Site Director at Sid Jacobson JCC is responsible for overseeing the childcare and enrichment programs for children aged 5-13 in a safe and engaging environment. This role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and developing program curriculum, while maintaining strong relationships with families and the Herricks School District.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the After School and enrichment program.
  • Supervise, coach, and support After School staff.
  • Coordinate staff schedules and program coverage.
  • Ensure compliance with OCFS regulations and safety procedures.
  • Track and maintain required staff training documentation.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Herricks School District and SJJCC.
  • Build relationships and communicate with families regarding needs and updates.
  • Collaborate on After School curriculum development.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and incident records.
  • Monitor inventory and organize program supplies.
  • Complete all annual OCFS trainings.

Required skills

  • 2+ years of experience in youth programming or childcare.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to physically supervise children and handle materials up to 25 pounds.
