Overview

The After School Assistant at Sid Jacobson JCC plays a vital role in creating a safe and engaging environment for children in an afterschool program. This position involves supporting daily activities, assisting with homework, and fostering positive relationships among children.

Key responsibilities

  • Build positive relationships with children through play and activities
  • Foster a welcoming environment for all participants
  • Support children with homework and daily routines
  • Communicate professionally with families and staff
  • Maintain program spaces for safety and engagement
  • Encourage positive behavior and social development
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times
  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings
  • Complete all required OCFS trainings and compliance requirements
  • Assist with additional program needs as assigned
