Job Description

Overview

The Quality Technician - Advanced Products at Ashland Foundry & Machine Works LLC is responsible for offering support in military and nuclear contracts through product testing, inspection, and non-destructive testing (NDT). This role requires adherence to safety standards and collaboration within the Quality Assurance department while reporting directly to the Quality Manager.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure safe work practices and compliance with safety regulations
  • Perform non-destructive testing including visual, liquid penetrant, and magnetic particle inspections
  • Conduct dimensional inspections on components
  • Participate in casting certification processes
  • Prepare and monitor NCR dispositions with internal and external stakeholders
  • Create weld maps and manage documentation of certifications
  • Maintain an organized workstation and contribute to team efforts

Required skills

  • Knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) principles
  • Quality control analysis and performance evaluation
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T
  • Experience with metrology equipment
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Critical thinking and analysis skills
  • Basic computer skills including word processing
