Job Description

Overview

MORI Associates is seeking a Mid-Level Tool Design Engineer to support aerospace programs in a fully remote 6-month contract position. The role involves designing, modeling, and documenting tooling solutions for complex aerospace hardware while collaborating with engineering teams to meet program requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop 3D and 2D models and engineering drawings using CREO and/or CATIA software
  • Ensure models and drawings are complete and ready for peer review and approval
  • Develop tooling requirements and prepare requirements material for design reviews
  • Create presentation slides for design reviews and ensure they are comprehensive and review-ready
  • Author tool use instruction documents, including proper usage, inspection, and maintenance
  • Conduct supplier analysis for tooling materials and maintain Purchase Order tracking documents
  • Perform load analyses for tools to verify structural adequacy under operating conditions
  • Submit FEA analyses and hand calculations as required

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
  • 3-6 years of experience in tool design or manufacturing engineering within aerospace or defense
  • Proficiency in CREO and/or CATIA for modeling and drawing creation
  • Experience producing engineering drawings in .CATDrawing or .drw format
  • Strong skills in Microsoft PowerPoint for preparing technical presentations
  • Attention to detail and ability to produce review-ready deliverables
