Job Description

Overview

Cargill is seeking an AEI Technician for their protein and salt business in Ames, Nebraska. This full-time role involves electrical project design, equipment installation, and maintenance, contributing to a team dedicated to safe and sustainable food production.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of electrical projects and install electrical equipment.
  • Coordinate with operators, supervisors, and engineers for equipment layout and system problems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to detect and prevent equipment issues.
  • Inspect industrial equipment for defects and ensure proper assembly.
  • Repair, install, and adjust equipment and machines.
  • Test faulty equipment using diagnostic tools and software.
  • Maintain accurate equipment logs for performance and repairs.
  • Follow safety regulations and compliance with the National Electric Code.

Required skills

  • Experience with blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and retrieval.
  • Ability to perform electrical maintenance and work in confined spaces.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of electrical systems.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers.
  • Knowledge of electrical test equipment for troubleshooting.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
