Job Description

Overview

The AEI Technician at Cargill is responsible for assisting in the design and installation of electrical projects, as well as maintaining and troubleshooting industrial equipment. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring efficient operations within Cargill's protein and salt business, contributing to the production of high-quality food products.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of electrical projects and install electrical equipment
  • Coordinate efforts with other workers for equipment installation and maintenance
  • Consult with operators, supervisors, and engineers to plan equipment layouts
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks to detect and prevent problems
  • Inspect components of industrial equipment for defects
  • Repair, install, and adjust equipment, machines, and defective components
  • Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions
  • Maintain equipment logs and enter notifications utilizing maintenance computer programs
  • Adapt to changing priorities and work extended shifts as needed

Required skills

  • Experience in manufacturing operations and industrial maintenance
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering and equipment installation
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
  • Familiarity with the National Electric Code
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and retrieval
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and time management skills
  • Ability to operate machinery and mobile equipment
