Overview

Loyola University Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join its inpatient Gastroenterology team, delivering advanced clinical care to patients with complex gastrointestinal conditions in an acute care setting. This position involves working independently and collaboratively with various medical professionals to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care for hospitalized patients with gastrointestinal conditions.
  • Perform detailed patient assessments including history, physical exams, and diagnostics.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the GI team.
  • Manage inpatient consultations and follow-up care.
  • Order, interpret, and act on laboratory, imaging, and procedural results.
  • Perform procedures within scope of practice and assist with GI procedures as needed.
  • Coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses and treatment plans.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Required skills

  • CPR - Basic Life Support
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
  • Current Registered Nurse License - State of Illinois (RN)
  • Nursing Practitioner License - State of Illinois (APN)
  • Physician Assistant License - State of Illinois (PA)
