Job Description

Overview

The Advanced Packaging Technology Development Substrates Module Engineer On-Shift at Intel is responsible for providing real-time factory support during night shifts to ensure continuous manufacturing operations. This role involves addressing equipment, process, and product issues while supporting the movement of lots through the manufacturing line and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive and review shift pass-downs from outgoing personnel and align priorities with management.
  • Provide real-time support for equipment, process, and product issues in a manufacturing environment.
  • Execute non-standard procedures and perform inspections on substrate panels to collect data.
  • Write and update specifications, procedures, and Requests for Change (RFCs).
  • Communicate key issues and updates with tool owners, process owners, and cross-functional teams.
  • Document and communicate all shift activities with detailed pass-downs to incoming shift personnel.
  • Support new tool enablement, lot disposition activities, and process troubleshooting.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline
  • 1+ years of relevant experience or Master's degree with 0 years of experience
  • Proficiency in statistical data analysis and process characterization
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing or packaging substrate development
  • Knowledge of design of experiments (DOE) and statistical process control (SPC)
  • Familiarity with metrology tool recipe creation and troubleshooting
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
