Job Description

Overview

Aerodyne Industries is seeking a Spacesuit Technologist to support the Orion Crew Survival Systems (OCSS) project, a critical effort in NASA's deep space exploration missions. This role involves working closely with project management and engineering teams to ensure the efficient testing and maintenance of spacesuit systems and associated equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Understand theory and operation of OCSS hardware.
  • Comprehend cleaning, maintenance, handling, and safety requirements.
  • Set up support equipment prior to tests.
  • Assist existing OCSS Suit Engineering Technologists during Fitcheck and testing.
  • Participate in pre/post event briefings and support Crew Survival Equipment lab schedules.
  • Support testing of OCSS hardware including suits, emergency systems, and survival equipment.
  • Assist project management with OCSS Qualification testing and acceptance testing.
  • Prepare required documentation and support project requirements.

Required skills

  • Experience with space system hardware assembly, verification, and testing.
  • Knowledge of pressure and oxygen systems, suit systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and documentation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Familiarity with NASA flight processes.
  • Strong communication skills for documentation and presentations.
  • Ability to support long training events and moderate lifting.
