Job Description

Overview

Aerodyne Industries is seeking a Thermal Analysis Engineer to support NASA's human spaceflight missions by developing and verifying thermal control systems. This role involves collaboration with NASA customers and various engineering teams to ensure reliable thermal solutions for spacecraft.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain thermal models using Thermal Desktop, SINDA/FLUINT, and related tools.
  • Perform steady state and transient thermal analyses for spacecraft components and integrated vehicle configurations.
  • Evaluate thermal performance across different mission phases.
  • Conduct thermal sensitivity studies to support vehicle designs.
  • Participate in thermal verification and validation activities, including test planning and data analysis.
  • Collaborate with design teams to optimize thermal control architectures.
  • Review thermal designs for technical accuracy and compliance with requirements.
  • Document analysis results and present findings to stakeholders.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in thermal analysis
  • Experience with thermal analysis tools such as Thermal Desktop, COMSOL, ANSYS Fluent
  • Strong understanding of heat transfer principles and spacecraft thermal environments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to validate thermal designs for technical accuracy and compliance
