Job Description

Overview

Aerodyne Industries is seeking a Systems Engineer to support NASA's Artemis program by defining mission activities for the Orion spacecraft. This role involves technical integration, mission planning, and cross-system coordination to facilitate deep space exploration and ensure mission readiness.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate and technically integrate the Orion spacecraft vehicle performance and limitations.
  • Develop issue resolution plans and recommend actions to minimize impacts to the overall vehicle.
  • Participate in Orion Program review boards and provide expert technical guidance.
  • Conduct trade studies and coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Develop concepts for future human space exploration vehicles and missions.
  • Review documentation for major milestone reviews including CBR, PDR, and CDR.
  • Perform risk analysis and mitigation planning.
  • Maintain relationships with NASA customers and partners.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or aerospace preferred).
  • 5 - 10 years of related experience in systems engineering.
  • Experience with requirements development and risk analysis.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles and documentation.
  • Experience in space mission analysis and spacecraft performance evaluation.
  • Understanding of configuration management and interface definitions between subsystems.
  • Familiarity with human space exploration systems (e.g., Orion, ISS).
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification preferred.
