Job Description

Overview

RONA is seeking a Network Administrator for Wi-Fi and telecommunications to work remotely, ideally located within 250 km of Boucherville, Quebec. The successful candidate will manage and evolve network and telecommunications systems while supporting the department's goals of helping customers with their projects and enhancing community engagement.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage operations and deployment of new network projects
  • Submit support requests to designated suppliers and partners
  • Implement network solutions for defined branches as per senior network team
  • Update knowledge base with an incident-oriented approach
  • Maintain documentation on solutions and integration strategies
  • Stay updated on networking technologies
  • Participate in out-of-hours support rotations

Required skills

  • Diploma in IT or equivalent
  • Extensive experience with Aruba Wi-Fi deployment and management
  • Strong experience with Cisco technology
  • Experience with Wi-Fi site surveys and post-implementation surveys
  • Familiarity with authentication management technologies like Cisco ISE or Aruba ClearPass
  • Experience with national WANs, including Fortinet SD-WAN and cellular LTE networks
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Solarwinds or Zabbix
  • Experience with firewalls like Fortinet and Cisco
  • Knowledge of BGP routing protocol
  • Scripting automation experience (e.g., Python) or deployment tools
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes
  • Problem-solving skills and good organization
  • Ability to work under pressure and be a team player
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changes
