The available sections are: Mondays/Wednesdays 11:10 am - 12:25 pmTuesdays/Fridays 11:10 am - 12:25 pmTuesdays/Thursdays 2:00 pm - 3:15 pmCourse Description:This course provides a general introduction to the fundamental concepts of probability and descriptive statistics. Students will learn methods for data collection, calculation, display, and analysis. The course emphasizes the advantages and limitations of statistical methods in investigating contemporary issues across science, health, education, management, and the social sciences. A research project involving descriptive statistics is required. Qualities and Capabilities A successful candidate will have:Master's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related field (required); PhD or terminal degree (preferred)Successful experience teaching mathematics courses at the undergraduate levelExperience supporting students with diverse academic backgrounds and levels of mathematical preparationDemonstrated commitment to student-centered, inclusive, and equitable teaching practicesExperience in constructivist inquiry-based learning with the ability to teach mathematical concepts in ways that are accessible, relevant, and engagingExcellent verbal and communication skillsExperience using learning management systems and educational technology to support teaching and learning Why Lesley Located in the heart of Cambridge, Massachusetts, Lesley University is highly regarded for its graduate and undergraduate programs in the human arts of education, the arts, and applied social sciences.
