Job Description

Overview

The North Texas VA Health Care System is seeking compassionate, mission-driven Psychiatrists for various roles within its Mental Health Service in Dallas, Texas. These positions aim to transform the lives of Veterans through addiction and mental healthcare, with opportunities in residential treatment, outpatient care, and support for the homeless population.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric assessment, consultation, medication management, and treatment planning
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to treat Veterans with substance use disorders, PTSD, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and psychotic disorders
  • Supervise medical students, residents, and advanced practice providers
  • Participate in educational activities and contribute to clinical research
  • Manage complex psychiatric, medical, and psychosocial conditions

Required skills

  • Addiction Psychiatry
  • Buprenorphine treatment experience
  • Experience treating substance use disorders
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry preferred
  • Fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry preferred
  • Experience with virtual care platforms preferred
