Overview

Pacific Life is seeking an Actuary & Director of Annuity Product Innovation to join their Research and Development team. This role, based in Newport Beach, CA, Omaha, NE, or Charlotte, NC, focuses on developing innovative annuity products by collaborating with various stakeholders to address retirement income needs while meeting pricing and risk targets.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the design and pricing of innovative annuity products.
  • Serve as the lead actuary during research and development phases.
  • Create educational materials to explain annuity features and benefits.
  • Ensure alignment of product development with corporate strategies.
  • Collect and analyze feedback on existing products and market trends.
  • Identify key risks and hedging considerations in annuity designs.
  • Communicate proactively with stakeholders during the development process.
  • Provide technical support to implementation teams.

Required skills

  • 8+ years of experience in annuity product development
  • FSA designation
  • Strong project leadership and collaboration skills
  • Analytical and strategic thinking
  • Knowledge of economic and regulatory factors impacting annuities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Actuarial modeling experience
