Overview

USAA is seeking a motivated and experienced Actuary for the Auto and Property Modeling team within the Underwriting & Pricing Analytics department. This role involves leveraging advanced actuarial knowledge to enhance pricing processes and ensure regulatory compliance, while collaborating with various teams to develop innovative actuarial solutions that positively impact members.

Key responsibilities

  • Apply advanced actuarial knowledge to complex projects including pricing methodologies and regulatory compliance.
  • Utilize statistical techniques and data analysis to support actuarial work products.
  • Lead special actuarial projects and train new team members on relevant methodologies.
  • Identify compliance gaps and recommend process improvements.
  • Represent Actuary in cross-functional efforts and communicate data-driven solutions effectively.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Actuarial, business, or analytical fields.
  • 4+ years of Actuarial or analytical business experience.
  • Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) credential.
  • Advanced skills in actuarial, mathematical, and statistical techniques.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and languages such as Python, R, SQL, SAS, and BI tools.
  • Experience in communicating complex solutions to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Strong Actuarial pricing expertise with knowledge of various pricing methodologies.
