Overview

As an Actuarial Analyst I at USAA, you will play a crucial role in applying complex actuarial methodologies to support the company's mission of empowering members to achieve financial security. This position requires a near-credentialed analyst responsible for insights in various actuarial practices including pricing, reserving, and catastrophe risk, and offers the flexibility of remote work while promoting a culture of integrity and service.

Key responsibilities

  • Independently apply complex technical and actuarial methodologies to complete various projects.
  • Utilize actuarial, mathematical, or statistical techniques for trend analysis.
  • Create and deliver training on actuarial tools and processes.
  • Identify compliance gaps and recommend solutions for process improvements.
  • Communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are identified and controlled.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years of related actuarial/business/analytical experience
  • 4 years of actuarial or analytical business experience
  • Near completion of Casualty Actuarial Society exams for ACAS credential
  • Competency in actuarial, mathematical, and statistical techniques
  • Intermediate knowledge of data analysis tools (Python, R, SQL, SAS)
  • Experience communicating complex solutions to various audiences
