Job Description

Overview

As an Actuarial Analyst I at USAA, you will play a key role in applying complex actuarial methodologies to support financial security for the military community and their families. This position allows for potential remote work within the continental U.S., and you will be integral in completing unstructured projects, contributing to business activities, and enhancing operational processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Apply complex technical and actuarial methodologies to complete unstructured projects.
  • Select and ensure quality of data for trend analysis and rate level indications.
  • Run catastrophe models and communicate results to support business activities.
  • Create and deliver training on actuarial tools and processes.
  • Identify compliance gaps and recommend process improvements.
  • Effectively communicate insights and solutions to various audiences.
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are identified and controlled.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent 4 years of related experience.
  • No more than 2 CAS exams away from ACAS credential.
  • Demonstrated competency with actuarial, mathematical, and statistical techniques.
  • Intermediate knowledge of data analysis tools (Python, R, SQL, SAS, BI tools).
  • Experience in communicating complex solutions to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Basic understanding of GLM or GBM modeling algorithms.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Model Risk Management and Regulatory requirements.
