Overview

The Activities Assistant / Transportation Driver at Carolina Inn is a dual-role position responsible for safely transporting residents and assisting in the planning and implementation of engaging activities. This role aims to promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of seniors in the community.

Key responsibilities

  • Safely transport residents to appointments and community outings using facility vehicles.
  • Assist residents in and out of vehicles, ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Maintain transportation schedules, records, and vehicle documentation.
  • Plan, organize, and implement recreational and therapeutic activities for residents.
  • Conduct group and one-on-one activities to encourage engagement and socialization.
  • Support activity outings and special events.
  • Maintain activity participation records and foster a positive environment for residents.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
  • Experience working with seniors or in recreational programming preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Physical ability to assist with mobility needs and lift weights up to 100 pounds.
