Overview

A.O. Smith is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist in Ashland City, Tennessee. This role involves performing duties in the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and maintaining vendor files, all under direct supervision.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare bills, invoices, statements, and vouchers for payment
  • Research invoices, returns, and credits
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices
  • Reconcile bills and checks, following up on discrepancies
  • Maintain vendor files
  • Process and vouch invoices into the accounts payable system
  • Monitor discount opportunities and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist in collections and verify shipping documentation

Required skills

  • Associates Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of related work experience or training in Accounting
  • Experience in Accounts Receivable and bookkeeping functions
  • Excellent deduction management and payment discrepancy skills
  • SAP experience
  • Proficient in Excel, word processing, and PowerPoint
  • Detail-oriented with excellent reasoning skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
