Job Description

Overview

The Accounts Payable Specialist at NSK America Corp provides support to the accounting department by managing accounts payable functions. This role is focused on processing payments, verifying invoices, and performing account reconciliations to control and monitor organizational expenses. The position requires a keen attention to detail and a solid understanding of accounting best practices.

Key responsibilities

  • Verify transactions and prepare disbursements
  • Collaborate with accounting and internal departments to analyze financial data
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements monthly
  • Perform data entry of vendor invoice activities
  • Maintain filing system for accounts payable documents
  • Investigate discrepancies with vendor payments
  • Update and maintain vendor records in the accounting system
  • Charge expenses to appropriate accounts and cost centers
  • Respond to vendor and employee inquiries regarding invoices
  • Assist in completing payment check/ACH runs on schedule
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Support computer system upgrades related to accounts payable
  • Perform related duties and backup for accounting staff as needed

Required skills

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in accounting or equivalent work experience
  • At least five years of experience in high-volume accounts payable processing
  • Advanced competency in accounting and business management software
  • Knowledge of accounts payable principles and accounting standards
  • Experience in account reconciliation
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office, especially advanced Excel
  • Previous experience with Great Plains and Salesforce is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
