Job Description

Overview

Golden Aluminum is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join their Finance team in Fort Lupton, Colorado. This role involves processing invoices and vendor payments using NetSuite, supporting month-end close activities, and participating in audits and process improvements to ensure compliance and accuracy in financial transactions.

Key responsibilities

  • Process and code vendor invoices, expense reports, and accounts payable transactions within NetSuite.
  • Review invoices and purchase orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain vendor records and accounting information.
  • Prepare and process weekly payment runs including checks, ACH, wire transfers, and EFTs.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal departments to resolve payment and invoice issues.
  • Assist with month-end close activities including accruals and account reconciliations.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with accounting standards.

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • 2-4 years of accounts payable experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Experience using NetSuite or similar ERP/accounting systems.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Experience with sales and use tax compliance, W-9 administration, and 1099 reporting preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
