Overview

Red River Commodities is seeking a Part-Time Accounts Payable Assistant to join their finance team. This role involves processing and managing accounts payable functions to ensure accurate and timely payments to vendors, which is crucial for maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting the financial operations of the company.

Key responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and process vendor invoices for payment
  • Reconcile vendor statements and accounts
  • Assist with tracking and reporting on departmental expenses
  • Accurately enter accounts payable data into the accounting system
  • Serve as a point of contact for vendors and suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and tax laws for payments
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
  • Evaluate and suggest improvements for accounts payable processes
  • Collaborate with internal departments to match purchase orders and invoices

Required skills

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
  • Experience with high-volume invoice processing
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
