Job Description

Overview

Employee Benefits Corporation is seeking an Accounting Specialist II to manage employer benefit plan payments, including reconciliations and customer service inquiries. The role allows for hybrid work with one day required in the Middleton, WI office.

Key responsibilities

  • Review, code, reconcile, and post client funding and fee payments
  • Research and resolve duplicate payments and discrepancies
  • Reconcile client benefit plan accounts and prepare refund requests
  • Follow up with clients on outstanding funding invoices
  • Update and audit client bank account information
  • Review payroll variance files and generate follow-up tasks as needed

Required skills

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Accounting
  • Knowledge of accounting and internal control principles
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and utilize basic math and analytical skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Comfort with evolving technology, including automated systems
