Job Description

Overview

The Accounting Specialist will be a vital member of the Finance team, responsible for managing full cycle payroll, accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), and financial reporting. This role ensures the accuracy of financial data and facilitates timely reporting while working within a hybrid arrangement, primarily based in Washington D.C.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle accounts payable processing and serve as the primary contact for employee expense reimbursements and vendor payments
  • Oversee full-cycle accounts receivable processes and track grant receipts against budget
  • Execute full-cycle payroll processing and ensure compliance with payroll regulations
  • Facilitate corporate credit card administration and ensure timely reconciliation and payment
  • Prepare journal entries, monthly reconciliations, and financial reports
  • Support the annual audit and tax filing preparations
  • Partner with program staff on revenue and expense coding
  • Maintain the Finance department's electronic file storage
