Overview

Pernini Recruiting Company is seeking an Accounting Manager for a well-established litigation defense law firm in Denver, Colorado. This senior role will oversee the accounting operations, including billing, collections, and financial reporting, while managing two accounting clerks in a collaborative environment with a stable staff.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the firm's accounting department
  • Oversee all billing processes for timely and accurate invoice generation
  • Develop and implement a structured collections strategy
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Maintain and improve internal controls
  • Manage trust accounting in compliance with ethical rules
  • Handle settlement checks and client funds with precision
  • Conduct financial analysis to support strategic planning
  • Attend weekly management meetings
  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff to streamline processes

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a law firm
  • Strong understanding of trust accounting and ethical rules
  • Experience with Tabs3 or similar legal billing/accounting software
  • Demonstrated ability to manage billing and collections
  • Proven supervisory skills for staff development
  • Highly organized and proactive
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
