Job Description

Overview

The Accounting Manager for Bank Reconciliation at Pacific Life is responsible for leading a team dedicated to overseeing enterprise-wide bank reconciliations and transactional matching processes. This manager will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial data, while driving continuous improvement initiatives and collaborating with various accounting and finance teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the bank reconciliation team, ensuring timely completion of activities.
  • Own the end-to-end book-to-bank reconciliation process, ensuring strong control alignment.
  • Establish and enforce reconciliation governance and standardization of procedures.
  • Drive process development and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance.
  • Provide leadership and coaching for team development and performance management.
  • Deliver insights and reporting to senior leadership on financial and operational metrics.

Required skills

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 8+ years of accounting or financial operations experience.
  • Experience managing and developing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger and bank reconciliation processes.
  • Familiarity with enterprise reconciliation tools (e.g., ARCS) and ERP systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
