Overview

The Accounting Manager for the Bank Reconciliation Team at Pacific Life is responsible for overseeing enterprise-wide bank reconciliation and transaction matching processes. This role involves managing a team of accounting professionals, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial data, and driving continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating with various cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of accounting professionals responsible for bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of reconciliation activities.
  • Own the end-to-end book-to-bank reconciliation process and control environment.
  • Drive process development and improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and support compliance.
  • Provide reporting and insights to senior leadership, including KPIs and operational performance.

Required skills

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 8+ years of accounting or financial operations experience.
  • Experience managing and developing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger and bank reconciliation processes.
  • Familiarity with enterprise reconciliation tools (e.g., ARCS) and ERP systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and issue resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.
