Overview

The Accounting Manager at Capital One will lead a team of accountants and professionals across various departments while focusing on project execution related to accounting system enhancements. This role is vital for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting through effective management of system changes and operational processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Understand financial system value stream
  • Gather and document requirements for system configuration changes
  • Complete system configuration builds, changes, and source to target mapping updates
  • Configure, test, implement, and support reconciliation systems
  • Administer system configuration changes
  • Participate in peer review meetings for adherence to best practices
  • Recommend modifications to existing processes and standards
  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of GL and Reconciliation platforms

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years in Accounting, Financial Analysis, or Audit
  • At least 2 years of Financial Systems experience
  • Experience with PeopleSoft, Workday, or Oracle
  • Experience with automated reconciliation systems like Frontier or TrinTech
  • Experience using an Agile framework (Scrum or Kanban)
  • Experience using Jira
  • Experience with Birst or Tableau
