Overview

Capital One is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Manager to join their Controllers Group in Wilmington, Delaware. This role focuses on executing high-priority projects related to accounting system changes, ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting for executives, regulators, and investors. The position offers a collaborative environment where contributions are recognized and rewarded, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Key responsibilities

  • Understand financial system value stream
  • Gather and document requirements for system configuration changes
  • Complete system configuration builds, changes, and source to target mapping updates
  • Configure, test, implement, and support reconciliation systems
  • Administer system configuration changes
  • Participate in peer review meetings to ensure best practices
  • Recommend modifications to existing processes and standards
  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of processes impacting GL and reconciliation platforms

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • 5+ years experience in Accounting, Financial Analysis, or Audit
  • 2+ years of Financial Systems experience
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Financial System or large systems like Workday or Oracle
  • Experience with automated reconciliation systems such as TrinTech
  • Experience in Agile project management frameworks (Scrum or Kanban)
  • Experience using Jira
  • Knowledge of Birst or Tableau
