Overview

Beacon Hill Financial is seeking an Accounting Manager for a fully onsite role in Silver Spring, MD. This position involves supporting day-to-day accounting operations, overseeing financial reporting activities, and assisting with the month-end close process.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity
  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Assist with financial statement preparation, internal reporting, and variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Review work completed by junior staff and provide guidance
  • Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Support audit processes by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests
  • Identify and implement process improvements for accounting efficiency
  • Collaborate with leadership and other departments on accounting-related initiatives

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and general ledger accounting
  • Prior experience in reviewing work and providing oversight
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems
  • Analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
