Job Description: Job Description C&S has an immediate opening for a full-time, direct hire Tax Accountant in Jefferson City. Salary/hours for Tax Accountant: $50,000-$80,000/yr. (based on experience) + benefit package; Monday-Friday (full-time + additional hours may be required during tax season) Responsibilities:Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts and nonprofits Review client financial records and ensure accurate tax reporting Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules Perform bookkeeping and account reconciliations Assist clients with tax planning and compliance matters Research tax issues and stay current on tax law changes Communicate with clients to gather information and answer questions Support payroll tax reporting and sales tax filings as needed Work closely with staff to meet deadlines and client needs Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field CPA, CPA candidate, EA, or equivalent experience preferred Experience working in a CPA firm or public accounting environment Knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel Experience preparing individual and business tax returns Knowledge of federal and state tax regulations Understanding of accounting principles and financial statements Proficiency with tax preparation and accounting software Strong attention to detail and organizational, time management and customer relations skillsExcellent written and verbal communication abilities Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Apply online and/or at 1731 Southridge Drive, Jefferson City. 110969 .
