Job Description

Overview

The Accountant at Zions Bancorporation will support the company's external financial reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial information compliant with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements. This role involves preparation and analysis of financial statements and collaboration with internal stakeholders to enhance reporting processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of external financial reporting deliverables, including regulatory filings.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and ensure financial statements are compliant with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within reporting processes.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Stay informed on external reporting requirements and industry best practices.
  • Assist with implementation of new accounting standards and prepare related documentation.
  • Maintain documentation related to internal controls and reporting procedures.
  • Support internal and external audit activities.

Required skills

  • Foundational knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statements.

  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 0-2+ years of accounting, audit, or financial reporting experience.
  • CPA license preferred or in process.
