Overview

The Accountant II role at CHRISTUS Health involves preparing month-end journal entries and performing variance analysis in compliance with US GAAP. This position requires collaboration with various functional accounting teams and is focused on ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and documentation.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare month-end journal entries in accordance with US GAAP
  • Perform variance analysis on assigned accounts to budget and trend
  • Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist accounting lead and manager with information requests
  • Ensure appropriate supporting documentation is attached to journal entries
  • Analyze GL transactions and support process improvement projects
  • Develop understanding of healthcare specific accounting issues

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • 2 years of accounting experience
  • General Ledger accounting experience
  • Healthcare accounting experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of US GAAP compliance
