You thrive in fast-paced environments where you can take ownership, contribute meaningfully to engagements team, and deliver high-quality work with accuracy, accountability, and integrity.Your key Responsibilities:Build and fortify your technical and professional skills across accounting, auditing, client interactions, and collaboration within an engagement team.Apply and deepen your understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), supporting audit and financial reporting engagements.Gain hands-on experience with audit tools and accounting software on audit engagements and/or compilation engagements.Collaborate with the client engagement team ahead of fieldwork to understand roles and responsibilities, identify risk areas, determine materiality, and align on key deadlines.Assess the appropriateness and sufficiency of audit evidence, such as cash, expenses, capital asset additions, prepaid expenses, and equity transactions.Review, investigate, and help resolve discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries, documents, and reports.Assist with financial statement tie-outs to ensure accuracy and consistency between working papers and financial statements.Develop a strong understanding of the Firms services, clients, and industry sectors with real, hands-on engagement experience.What you bring:Committed to pursuing your CPA designation (a copy of your transcripts will be requested!).Technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, with a strong aptitude for quickly learning and adapting to new technologies.Ambitious and driven approach to work with a passion for accounting, an eagerness to learn and grow, and confidently take on new challenges.Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster strong relationships and collaborate seamlessly.Strong organizational and execution skills, with the ability to confidently manage multiple priorities and deadlines without compromising quality or accuracy.Demonstrated alignment with McGovern Hurleys values of collaboration, respect, accountability, integrity, and quality.Proven experience in client- or customer-facing roles, engaging clients professionally and delivering a positive experience a definite plus.Job Details:Number of vacancies: 1Hours of Work: 37.5 per week; as a professional you acknowledge that some overtime will be requiredLocation: 251 Consumers Road, North York, ONSalary: $58,000 - $80,000Placement within the range will depend on depth of experience, demonstrated skills a
