Overview

The Account Manager - Personal Lines at Marshall & Sterling is a key role responsible for managing a personal book of business while collaborating with Account Executives and Producers to design and implement benefits strategies. This position focuses on building strong client relationships, ensuring exceptional service delivery, and mentoring Assistant Account Managers, all within a culture that emphasizes employee ownership and collaboration.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a personal book of business and serve as the primary contact for clients
  • Design benefits strategies and prepare renewals in partnership with Account Executives and Producers
  • Lead client meetings including open enrollments, benefit presentations, and planning sessions
  • Build strong relationships with carriers to secure optimal solutions for clients
  • Create and maintain client materials using Microsoft Office and HRIS tools
  • Stay informed on industry regulations, compliance, and best practices
  • Mentor Assistant Account Managers to support their professional growth

Required skills

  • Four-year college degree in business or related field
  • Proficiency in AI tools and Microsoft Office programs
  • Valid NYS P+C brokers license
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of insurance policies and benefits strategy development
  • Ability to build and maintain client relationships
