Overview

The Account Manager for Commercial Lines at Marshall & Sterling Inc. is responsible for managing a personal book of business while offering exceptional client service and building strong relationships. This hybrid position in Poughkeepsie, New York, focuses on risk management strategies, collaboration with sales teams, and mentoring assistant account managers to help clients navigate their insurance needs and protect their interests.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage your own book of business as the main point of contact for clients.
  • Collaborate with Sales Executives and Producers to design risk management strategies.
  • Lead client meetings including policy reviews and renewal discussions.
  • Build strong relationships with insurance carriers to secure competitive coverage options.
  • Review and prepare applications, policies, endorsements, audits, and proposals for accuracy.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and coverage changes.
  • Mentor Assistant Account Managers and provide guidance for their success.

Required skills

  • P+C brokers license
  • Four-year degree in business or related field
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Transportation access and valid driver's license
